Problem

A coaching business growing by word-of-mouth, and no web presence.

Approach

Mapped the enquiry journey before building a bespoke, fast marketing site with CMS (so pages can be updated). Booking enquiries are deliberately placed front and centre without distracting from the overall message of the site.

Result

Fast loading, reads clearly, and makes the next step obvious. Handed over with training, so James is never waiting on a developer to help him make changes.

Problem

Collectors of official UK Doctor Who physical media (VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, 4K) had no single, comprehensive way to search release details or dig into bonus feature content across four decades of releases.

Approach

Built a Django/PostgreSQL site hosted online, with a fully searchable database cataloguing thousands of releases, including detailed breakdown of all bonus features and contributor credits.

Result

A publicly launched, easily-maintained archive spanning 1983 to the present day.

Problem

A concept site for the wedding trade. Most photographers and filmmakers sell their craft on templates that flatten it.

Approach

An editorial site for an invented studio that leads with the photography, sells stills and film as one offer, and puts a date and venue check in the hero.

Result

A calm, image-led site that reads clearly on any screen. A real studio's own photography and words drop straight in.

Problem

A concept site for scripted-drama producers. A production company needs a site that sets a tone before a word is read.

Approach

A cinematic site for an invented company, with a film-still hero, timecode detailing, and clear sections for the slate, the company, the crew and partners.

Result

A confident, film-led site that carries the mood of the work. Swap in a real company's titles and stills and it is ready.

Problem

A concept site for design studios. A studio that sells its thinking cannot prove much with a wall of finished logos.

Approach

An invented Manchester studio built around a working instrument. The visitor turns two dials, and the shape those settings draw stands for the distance between what a company claims and what it actually does.

Result

A site that makes its argument while you use it, and that still reads properly on a phone, with animation switched off, or with no JavaScript at all.

Problem

A concept site for architects. An owner with an empty building wants to know what it could become, and a wall of finished photographs answers a question they have not asked yet.

Approach

An invented Manchester practice, led by its drawings rather than its photographs. The home page opens on a derelict weaving shed that is repaired and gains a storey as you scroll, built from a scrubbed sequence of stills so it runs backwards as readily as forwards.

Result

A site whose first screen names the trade, the city and the offer, and that still works on a phone, with motion switched off, or with no JavaScript at all.

Problem

A concept site for commercial photographers. Somebody with a budget needs to know what a day costs and how the pictures may be used, and most photography sites answer neither question.

Approach

An invented Brighton photographer whose home page is a marked-up contact sheet. One click rings a frame in wax, a second crosses it out, a third rubs the mark away, and both kinds of mark travel with the visitor into the enquiry, so the message arrives already carrying the brief.

Result

A site that explains its day rate and its usage licence in plain words, and that still works with the script switched off, where every frame on the sheet is a link to the commission it came from.
